今週は、ドイツのモンスター・ロック・バンド、
トキオ・ホテルをフィーチャーします。
実はきのう、来日中のトキオ・ホテルのメンバーに
大塚善奈が直撃インタビューしてきました。
これまでの作品のトータル・セールスは700万枚以上！
この20年で最も成功したドイツのアーティストといわれています。
そんなトキオ・ホテルが先週、ついに日本デビュー！
きのう、都内某所でヴォーカルのビル、双子の兄弟でギターのトム。
そしてベースのゲオルグ、ドラムのグスタフに会ってきました！
ヴォーカルのビルは、噂どおり、奇抜なファッション！
シルバーのスーツで決めてましたね！さすが、眩しかったです！
まずは、トキオ・ホテルの結成秘話と気になるバンド名の由来を伺いました。
ビル：
それが一番聞かれる質問なんだけど、このバンドはほんとに若い時から始めて、
最初のバンド名はDevilishだったんだけど、
もっと僕たちらしい名前にしたいと思って
新しいバンド名を探してたら誰かがTOKIOHOTELっていう
アイディアを出したんだよ。
そのサウンドもよかったし東京って
すごく遠い場所だから自分たちのモチベーションもキープしていられるし、
東京がゴールみたいな感じだったから気に入ったんだ。
そして、世界を回りたいっていう僕たちの夢を表すのにホテルという
ワードもあわせて、この「TOKIOHOTEL」っていい名前だなと思ったんだよね。

「東京がゴール」、夢のような場所の象徴として「東京→TOKIO」
そして、憧れのツアー生活の象徴が「HOTEL」！
彼らの夢が詰まったバンド名だったんですね。

続いて、日本デビュー盤「ダークサイド・オブ・ザ・サン」について
伺いました。今回のアルバムコンセプトを聞いてみました・・・。
ビル：
まずは、なによりも日本のファンにとって特別なアルバムにしたかったんだ。
これを聞けばTOKIOHOTELって、どんなバンドなのかが分かってもらえるような１枚に仕上がっていると思うよ。
過去にリリースした色んな曲を入れているし新しい曲も入ってる。
そういう意味ではTOKIOHOTELのベストアルバムって感じかな。
選曲は、メンバーそれぞれが好きな曲をチョイスしたんだけど・・・
例えば、Monsoonっていう曲は、絶対入れたいと思ったんだ。
なぜなら、自分たちにとっての一番最初のシングルだったから今でも特別な
１曲なんだよね。

海外で既にリリースされている過去の音源を改めて
日本デビュー盤として、メンバー自らがセレクトした１枚だったんですね！

あさって14日はセント・バレンタインズ・デー・・・
日本では女の子が好きな男の子にチョコをプレゼントするんだよ！って言ったら
こんな反応が返ってきました！
ビル：
ほんとに！？
その習慣ドイツに持って帰りたいくらいだよ！
日本の男の子がうらやましいな。
バレンタインはドイツにもあるんだけど、
男の子が女の子にプレゼントをあげるんだよ。
他にも、家族とか自分にとって大事な人達にプレゼントをあげたりもするみたい。
でも、僕は今彼女いないので何もしないけど、ベースのゲオルグには彼女がいるから、車とかダイヤモンドとかあげちゃうんじゃない？

かなり日本の男の子の事を羨ましがってましたね！
ドイツと日本では、習慣が少し違うんですね！
ベースのゲオルグ意外は、彼女ナシ！
