They’re just 20 years old and almost already reached the retirement age in the music business. Tokio Hotel are highly acclaimed teen idols and now they’re fighting for their career. Their current europe tour wasn’t sold out. Between Tokio Hotel and Justin Bieber has started something like a competition. At the comet awards last friday, there was a meeting between the old and young teen idols.
For the first time Tom talks exclusive about his love-doping.

Since 5 years they belong to the first league. Tokio Hotel are almost the retired people at the red carpet. The younger teen stars next to Tokio Hotel are wanting some attention, too, like the 16 years old Justin Bieber who got famous through the internet. He’s the new generation of teen stars.
Justin Bieber “I wouldn’t say that I’m a teen star. But when you want, then I am.”
Everybody is trying to get a place in the teen sector.
Detlef Soost “I think it is very difficult when you begin in a young age and also have a young fandom like Justin Bieber or Tokio Hotel, who slowly but surely grow out of their role. It’s difficult to keep the young fans but also to get new fans who are older.”
Senna (Monrose) “In Tokio Hotels case it’s difficult, because they’re also having international success. I think to fulfill all standards a huge impact.”
Volker Neumüller “Between 12 and 18 the taste of music changes. You develop yourself and change and something you thought is cool and great one day ago, maybe becomes very uncool.”
Justin Bieber plays the role of the clean and sober boy without scandals, a one boy boygroup. Everything is planned into the last little detail. Also the appearance at the red carpet.
Interviewer “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”
Justin Bieber “I don’t know. I’m living the moment right now.”
If a clean image brings the wanted success? Tokio Hotel have got since years a career with stamina. One highlight is followed by another, for example with their private life at the asia tour. That brings attention.
Tom “I’ve bought viagra, yes.”
Interviewer “And consumed?”
Tom “I also consumed yes.”
Interviewer “Just tried?”
Tom “But the thing is that people talk bad about it, because it sounds like an accident or something. Because when an accident happens you don’t want that it happens again. And I can’t exclude that, to be honest.”

Tokio Hotel win in the category best live act. That’s their revange to all reviewer who said their europe tour was a flop, because it wasn’t sold out.
Bill “Many other bands would be happy to play in Paris in front of 12.000 fans. And well, it depends on how you see it. We are very very happy with our tour.”
Tokio Hotel showed the next teen generation how you hold yourself in the music business, like Scooter who do since 17 years music and got an award for the most played act ever. Next to Oliver Pocher and Sandy Meyerwölden they were also the first one at the aftershow party.
While Justin Bieber prefers to avoid scandals and doesn’t show up at the aftershow party, Tokio Hotel show up in the late night and party in the closed part of the AFP. When you believe in Scooter, it’s the right way for a long lasting career, even to reach people that aren’t teens anymore.
