For about two weeks in the fall of 2008, androgynous emo band Tokio
Hotel seemed primed to take over the music world, but faster than you
could say "German Jonas Brothers," common sense was quickly restored and
the group returned to being just Europe-famous. However, the lone
remnant of their fast ascension to the top was, of course, an MTV VMA
for Best New Artist, which prevented Katy Perry or Taylor Swift, two
bona fide pop superstars, from taking home the trophy. Mulligan?
They don't know what they're talking about *rolls eyes*
