20 years later, they were followed by
another group from Magdeburg, a band of teenagers on a new scale – Tokio
Hotel. Their first single Durch Den Monsun immediately became a mega
hit. These guys broke all records.
Sabrina Setlur (rapper): I have to say it is simply a phenomenon. It
is very interesting what these boys have done. Nobody believed they
would be able to leave the indoors.
Eine van de Meiklokjes (show host): They achieved success not only in
Germany but also in France, Spain and England. This is crazy.
- Tokio Hotel captivated an entire generation, not only in Germany but worldwide.
Eine van de Meiklokjes (show host): I saw the video of when the young
French girls got together before the show, singing and shouting with
enthusiasm, in a difficult German language. It was really cool. I was
surprised: the French can speak German. I always thought they could not
speak German. Somehow, they succeed.

- Furthermore, the boys of Tokio Hotel were growing and in 2010 they
moved, changed their style and continued to climb. And Tokio Hotel again
achieves great success. Their last appearance – the European tour
‘Welcome To Humanoid City’ in 2010. This is a very pretentious show.
Kim Fisher (singer and show host): I think it was the costumes associated with the development of their new identity.
- This flirtation with the genre, I do not know if it was a school
success or a pop direction but everything with perfection. Nobody in
Germany came to reach this level.
Karl Böcking (moderator): Everything that was not said, evidently, you can see how much was invested in imagination here.
