MTV extravaganza returns
TV ASIA’S World Stage series returns to Malaysia for the second year running on July 31 at Sunway Lagoon in Bandar Sunway.
Set to blaze the stage are international artistes such as Katy Perry and Tokio Hotel, and local band Bunkface.
Last year’s event saw thousands of fans packing the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach to catch international acts like the All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls and Hoobastank perform.
This year, Sony Ericsson Malaysia, the official mobile partner for MTV World Stage 2010, has announced that its Asia Pacific Digital Ambassadors, Korean girl band Wonder Girls, will also be performing at the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010.
Fans of Wonder Girls will be able to win 10 exclusive passes to the concert and a post-concert party through a Sony Ericsson Malaysia Facebook contest, which will run from July 1 until July 21.

Alex Wong, general manager of the Malaysian branch of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications International AB, said the company had established a partnership with Wonder Girls as the band’s soaring popularity via YouTube demonstrated the power of social media in connecting with consumers.
"This synergy encapsulates what we mean by communication entertainment as the girls constantly update their Twitter and Facebook on-the-go with their Sony Ericsson phones – allowing instant interaction with their fans anytime, anywhere," he said.
Consumers who purchase the XperiaTM X10 mini and VivazTM pro between June 21 and July 16 at all authorised Sony Ericsson dealers will receive two MTV concert passes while stocks last.
Those who purchase these phones at the Sony Ericsson booth during the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2010 Roadshow at Sunway Pyramid on July 17 and 18 will also receive additional post-concert party passes, while stocks last.
Sony Ericsson will also be setting up an ‘experience booth’ on the day of the concert to allow consumers to get a first-hand feel of their new range of phones.
"Sony Ericsson is proud to be a part of this year’s MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia, as this is an opportunity to bring world-class entertainment to our consumers, staying true to our commitment as the Communication Entertainment brand," Wong added.
On the upcoming concert, Indra Suharjono, executive vice president/managing director of MTV Networks Asia, said: "There’s nothing like the energy of 15,000 fans enjoying a free, live music event with some of the world’s most popular recording.
