Bill: Wir sind extrem aufgeregt. Also, wir sind extrem nervös immer und das geht auch nie vorbei. Ich glaub’, das gehört dazu so. Ganz klar, man ist immer nervös, wenn man auf die Bühne geht und so wie man halt drauf steht und anfängt, so dann entspannt man sich auf der Bühne eigentlich relativ schnell und hat eigentlich nur noch Spaß. Aber davor, muss man sagen, sind wir extrem nervös.
We’re extremely nervous. Meaning, we’re always extremely nervous and that also doesn’t go away. I think it’s just part of it. Of course, one is always nervous when walking on stage and as soon as one stands on it and begins then one relaxes relatively quickly on stage and actually just has fun. However, one has to say that we’re extremely nervous prior to that.
Bill: Der große Unterschied ist halt dies’ Mal, dass wir ’ne ganz eigene Bühne mithaben. Ja also, das macht eigentlich den Unterschied. Tom: Ich und Georg, wir haben, wir haben ja irgendwie in der letzten Albumproduktionsphase – das war ja fast ’n Jahr – haben wir uns mal zwei Wochen frei genommen und, und sind mit ’nem Zelt vor Jessica Albas, erm, Haus vorbei gekommen und haben uns da ’n bisschen niedergelassen. Nee, sie hat kein Konzert gegeben. Sie hat auch die Tür nich’ aufgemacht, erm, von daher war das nich’ so erfolgreich, aber das sind so kleine Sachen, die man dann schon macht.
During the last phase of our album production – which took almost a year – I and Georg, we took, we just took 2 weeks off and, and passed by Jessica Alba’s house with a tent and settled down. Nah, she didn’t give a concert. She also didn’t open the door, erm, so therefore it wasn’t much of a success but those are just the little things one happens to do.

Especially Tom and I also don’t know it any differently, yes? We grew up like that. We’ve evoked tremendous hatred in elderly people as well when we were still very young. Therefore... Tom: Wir haben eigentlich ’n ähnliches Problem, weil wir, erm, für die Produktion sozusagen auf Tour natürlich auch so viel Geld ausgeben, dass wir auch am Ende des Tages mit so’ner Tour natürlich kein, kein richtiges Geld mehr verdienen und CDs werden auch immer weniger.

Meaning, it’s proper going downhill. Meaning, it’s really been easy to follow [the matter] over the past five years.
Tom: Wann hat man Platin gekriegt, vor 10 Jahren in Deutschland? Das waren wahrscheinlich so 2 Millionen Platten oder so was?
When did one receive Platinum [records] in Germany 10 years ago? That was probably with, like, two million [sold] records or something?
Bill: Wahrscheinlich, ja.

Tom: Jetzt ist, glaube ich, Platin bei 200.000, ne? Oder so was.
I think, now Platinum lies at 200,000, right? Or something like that.
Tom: Wir haben auch den Fehler gemacht… Was heißt „den Fehler gemacht“? Ich würd’s wahrscheinlich immer wieder so machen. Wir haben jetzt auch nie irgendwelche Sachen gemacht zu irgendwie, erm, irgendwelche Werbeverträge oder irgendwas, wo wir gesagt haben „So, komm. Tokio Hotel released 4 Albums in 4 Years, which immedietely got #1 in the german Charts. Whole Europe goes wild because of these 4 boys from Magdeburg and from 2008 on american girls joined the european ones. A success-story, there’s no question about that. But by now it’s also a story about a burden which rests on the shoulders of the Frontman, Bill Kaulitz!
No one has ever seen the singer so stressed and down like today. The only thing that’s left from Bill is a shadow of his former self, when he secretly scurried into the Steakhouse “STK” in Los Angeles. A scandal for his fans, since Bill was recently voted “Sexiest Vegetarian” by the animal welfare organization “Peta”. But also celebrities criticize him. “You’re so gay”, Katy Perry agiated against him. People often attacked him in public, but this time the 21-year-old really takes it to heart. “The thing that Katy is doing is not nice, but she’s a strange person. There are a lot of shallow people in the music industry”, Bill says dolefully.

Tokio Hotel released 4 Albums in 4 Years, which immedietely got #1 in the german Charts. Whole Europe goes wild because of these 4 boys from Magdeburg and from 2008 on american girls joined the european ones. A success-story, there’s no question about that. But by now it’s also a story about a burden which rests on the shoulders of the Frontman, Bill Kaulitz!
No one has ever seen the singer so stressed and down like today. The only thing that’s left from Bill is a shadow of his former self, when he secretly scurried into the Steakhouse “STK” in Los Angeles. A scandal for his fans, since Bill was recently voted “Sexiest Vegetarian” by the animal welfare organization “Peta”. But also celebrities criticize him. “You’re so gay”, Katy Perry agiated against him. People often attacked him in public, but this time the 21-year-old really takes it to heart. “The thing that Katy is doing is not nice, but she’s a strange person. There are a lot of shallow people in the music industry”, Bill says dolefully.
The times when Bill was considered a fashion muse, seem to be over too. Recently, his Twin Tom got a Model job for the shoe manufacturer “Reebok”. Tom doesn’t seem to notice that his brother isn’t feeling well. In fact he talks about a new Album – in german and english: “We’d have to do everything twice. Like, instead of recording 50 Songs we would have to record 100.”, said Tom. This means a lot of pressure for Bill, since he writes the Songs on his own.
Why doesn’t anyone notice, that this overwhelmes him?
